Welcome to Steve & Megan's Travelog.

PlaneIn 2002, we departed on a Round the World trip. We'd intended to travel for exactly 12 months (to qualify for cheap air tickets). We also intended to try and keep people back home up to date with what we were up to by maintaining a web site documenting our activities. When we posted a new page of info, we'd email out to a list of people to say there was a new update to read. You may have been one of those people. This meant that we didn't spam people with massive e-mails they didn't want to read and we also didn't have to spend our year abroad sitting in cyber-cafes, frantically typing in our diary. Remember, this was 2002, most people didn't even know what the Internet was! Steve had a handheld computer (Psion) and, together with the mobile phone, we could upload updates to our website quite easily. Erm, except in South America where the phone didn't work!

Read the original travelog here - Here's the original travelog as published as we travelled around. Nothing has been changed from how it originally appeared (except for fixing some typos). We could have replaced the images with some better quality ones or added some more, but we think it's interesting to leave the whole thing as it stood when we arrived back home.

A Note To Our Listeners

Those of you on our e-mail list should have seen most of what there is in the travelog. We'd like to thank you for all your support and encouragement (especially at the end when it all got a bit hectic). We'll not be sending you any other mass mailings until we set off travelling again.

There is some previously unreleased material down the bottom of this page that you might care to take a look at.

Some Additional Stuff

We thought it might be interesting to round off the whole exercise with a bit of additional material. So, we've added the following which didn't form part of the original travelog but which might be of interest.

World Map - See the whole journey at a glance.

Favourite Pics - A selected picture from each country.

Passport Stamps - Browse our passport - keep a look out for the crazy Mongolian and Laos visas.

The daily agenda.
